The Evolution of Cosmic Sound
A Timeline of Nirvāṇasounds to a Global Healing Movement
Origins: Visual Arts to Inner Awareness
Cosmic Sound began with visual storytelling. My background in photography and teaching visual arts deepened my awareness of how we perceive light, experience emotions, and respond to our environment. Engaging with creative groups and art communities further shaped my understanding of the senses and their influence on the mind. This creative awareness later influenced my journey into Sound healing.
Early Spiritual Encounter (2000)
In 2000, I met master Santa Ratna Shakya, who carries on the tradition of Himalayan singing bowls. This experience inspired me to explore Sound healing by integrating ancient wisdom with contemporary approaches. This marked an early turning point in my exploration.

The Turning Point: COVID-19 Pandemic (2020)
The COVID-19 pandemic marked a turning point as people worldwide faced isolation and uncertainty. Feeling called to action, I set out to support well-being during this challenging period.
Motivated by this need, I shifted my focus to Sound therapy as a gentle, universal way to restore balance, building upon my earlier experiences.
Digital Expansion & Global Reach (2020–2021)
Using this energy and responding to worldwide limitations, I started online sound-healing programs involving people across Asia, especially in China, South Korea, and Vietnam, further expanding the reach during these challenging times.
In this way, these sessions changed traditional methods into online healing experiences, helping people from different cultures connect through Sound.

The Birth of Nirvāṇasounds (2021)
Building on this global momentum, Nirvāṇasounds Kathmandu and Nirvāṇasounds China emerged together, symbolizing cross-cultural harmony and linking Himalayan wisdom with audiences worldwide.
Founding the Shakya Kasa Healing Tradition
Following these milestones, to preserve the tradition's authenticity and encourage study, the Shakya Kasa Healing Tradition and the Shakya Kasa Research Center were officially established.
Through this initiative, Himalayan Sound healing is organized, drawing together traditional knowledge and modern research while providing structured programs for practitioners worldwide.
Literary Contribution: A Foundational Work
An important next step was writing and publishing the book “The Himalayan Singing Bowl: Healing Mind, Tuning Body,” co-written with Santa Ratna Shakya.
Published in English, this book explores the concepts of Sound healing, shares practical techniques, and addresses both scientific and spiritual aspects of vibration.
International Recognition: Sound Concert and Book Launch in Beijing
As a result, a large sound-healing concert introduced Himalayan singing bowls to new listeners and also served as the book launch event.
This event showed how art, healing, and sharing knowledge can come together on a global stage.
Establishing Himalayan Healing Systems
Capitalizing on these foundations and utilizing the Shakya Kasa Research Center, a clear Himalayan Healing system was created, offering:
• Certified courses (physical and online)
• Practitioner training programs
• Research-based methodologies.
This system ensures the practice is consistent, authentic, and available worldwide.
Cultural Exchange & Expansion
Visits and collaborations in Vietnam and China broadened soTrips’ reach. This teamwork was built on the foundations of previous programs, helping to spread Sound healing and foster discussions and partnerships.
Altogether, this process shows how tradition has grown into a global movement that mixes science, spirituality, and art, and serves as a place for learning, performing, and healing.
Future Vision
1-International Symposium of Sound – Kathmandu
Looking ahead, the International Symposium of Sound in Kathmandu will bring together researchers, practitioners, and artists from all over the world. Its goal is to explore how Sound can heal and raise awareness, encourage teamwork, and share new research and practical uses.
2-Global Declaration from Lumbini
Building on this vision, an important step is to draft and announce an International Declaration in Lumbini recognizing Sound as an alternative healing method. This declaration aims to encourage worldwide acceptance of Sound healing and highlight Lumbini’s importance as a symbol of peace and awakening.
3-Global Expansion of Cosmic Sound
Ultimately, the mission is to integrate Cosmic Sound into global wellness and research groups. This means building worldwide partnerships, creating standard training and research programs, and supporting official recognition and practice of Himalayan Sound healing everywhere. From visual arts to global Sound healing, Cosmic Sound shows that Sound is not only heard but also experienced, embodied, and transformative.
